The cost of finding out late

Enforcement is tightening from 1 November 2026, and the penalties apply per vehicle.

$350

The infringement fee for operating a vehicle with a WoF expired by more than two months, up from $200 from 1 November 2026.

$1,000

Maximum court-ordered fine for non-compliant wheels and tyres. The infringement fee rises from $150 to $350 on the same date.

Duty of care

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act, a vehicle you send onto the road is a workplace. An unroadworthy one is your liability, not your driver's.

Out of date

A spreadsheet is accurate on the day you type it and wrong every day after. Fleet Compliance rechecks the registry for you.

Penalty figures from NZTA, Changes to light vehicle inspections from 1 November 2026.

One score for the whole fleet

Open the dashboard and you know where you stand in a second. Whatever is dragging the score down sits at the top of the list.

What we watch

Three things expire on every vehicle you run. We track all three, on every vehicle, all the time.

Registration

Expiry dates pulled straight from the registry, including vehicles on hold or with a lapsed licence. You get told at 30 days, 7 days, and the day it goes.

Rego

WoF and CoF

Inspection dates for light and heavy vehicles, and failed inspections too. If a vehicle failed and never came back, you will see it instead of assuming it passed.

Warrant and Certificate of Fitness

RUC

Distance licences measured against the odometer, so you know how many kilometres are left rather than what the last invoice said. Overruns are flagged in kilometres.

01

Add your plates

Type them in or paste a list. We look each one up in the registry and fill in the make, model, colour and every expiry date. Nothing to key in twice.

02

Say who to tell

Reminders go to you, your office manager, or the driver of that specific vehicle. Set the notice period once and it applies to the whole fleet.

03

Forget about it

We recheck the registry and email you when something needs doing. When a client or auditor asks, download the report with the whole fleet on one page.

One price, per vehicle

Every feature is included on every plan. You pay for the vehicles you are watching, and nothing else.

Forever, no card needed

Volume pricing and onboarding help

Running a big or mixed fleet, or need heavy vehicles, sites and cost centres kept separate? We will price it properly and help you load it in.

Where the data comes from

No manual entry, and no scraping. Compliance dates come from the source that issues them, and odometers come from the vehicle.

What you stop doing

  • No spreadsheets to keep up to date
  • No manual calendar entries per vehicle
  • No ringing around to ask if a WoF got done
  • No per-user fees and no lock-in contract

NZ motor vehicle registry

Rego, WoF and CoF dates, inspection results, and the vehicle's make, model and colour. Rechecked on a schedule, not on request.

Your odometer readings

Enter them yourself, or let a Fleet Track GPS unit report them automatically so RUC balances stay right without anyone checking a dash.

Email and report exports

Reminders to whoever needs them, and a one-page fleet report you can hand to a client, an auditor or your insurer.

Fleet Compliance is the compliance-only tier of Fleet Track

Same platform, same data, same New Zealand support team. You are just not paying for the parts you have not asked for. If you later want to see where your vehicles are, what they did today, or ask questions about your fleet in plain English, it turns on in the same account with no migration.

Questions

Do I need a GPS unit in my vehicles?

No. Fleet Compliance works from your number plates alone. A tracker only helps if you want RUC balances kept up to date from real odometer readings instead of ones you type in.

How current is the data?

Vehicle details and compliance dates are sourced from the NZ motor vehicle registry and rechecked automatically. Every vehicle shows when it was last checked, so you are never guessing at the age of what you are looking at.

Can I add trailers and heavy vehicles?

Yes. Anything with a plate can be added, and CoF is tracked the same way as WoF. Pricing is per vehicle regardless of type.

What happens if a vehicle leaves the fleet?

Remove it and it comes off your next invoice. There is no contract term and no minimum fleet size.

Who is behind fleetcompliance.nz?

Fleet Track NZ, a New Zealand GPS and telematics supplier. Fleet Compliance runs on the same platform our tracking customers use, offered on its own for operators who only need the compliance side.
